Quot lines up what you do today in your head, on paper and in Excel, but with the right numbers. Here is the full path, and why the price that comes out is truly correct.
At the start you set up your baths: chemistry type, cathodic efficiency (even measured on your own real parts), typical voltage and additives. You connect the live metal prices and, where needed, your price list. From then on Quot knows your processes: it tells you times and amps at the rectifier for each batch and how much metal is left in the tank.
You pick the part shape (Quot calculates the surface area), you stack the treatment layers with their thickness, you state how many parts. Quot applies the day's metal prices and works out raw material, energy and bath additives, while you add labor, VAT and your markup. If a part comes up often, you save it and recall it in an instant.
You generate the professional PDF with your own details and logo, or the customer link to send even via WhatsApp. The customer opens it without signing up, accepts or rejects it with a tap, and you can see when they viewed it and what they decided. From there you track the job by status, from draft to delivery, you record the actuals with the real weighings, and the history keeps everything: recalculate at today's metal prices, duplicate and export.
Three physical principles that homemade spreadsheets get wrong, and that in Quot are the heart of the pricing engine.
The weight of the deposited metal depends on the real density of each metal: a physical constant. It's the most common mistake in homemade sheets, which underestimate precious metals by 3 to 10 times and eat your margin without you noticing.
The electric charge needed depends only on the deposit: thickness, surface area and density. The amperes change only the time, the volts only the energy. That's why the times Quot shows match those of your rectifier.
With precious metals the "metal apart" convention applies: the price follows the spot. Quot digitises it. The index-linked quote adjusts to the day's price until the customer signs, then it locks. You never quote old gold.
You send an index-linked quote on Monday. The customer opens it on Thursday, when gold has already risen. With a spreadsheet, you would have eaten that margin yourself. With Quot, on reopening the customer portal automatically reprices only the raw material at the day's rate (energy and labor stay as they were) and recalculates the total, keeping VAT and markup intact.
When the customer accepts, that price is frozen: the figure signed is exactly the one they saw. No more phone calls saying "sorry, gold has changed".
All of this without a single extra call to the metal prices: the portal reads prices already in cache, so it is instant and free. And when the customer accepts, from the Opus plan you carry the quote into your management software (Fatture in Cloud, Fattura24 or Danea) without re-entering a single line.
You sign up on your own in a few minutes: we verify through the business registers that your business is an electroplating shop and access is immediate, 7 days of trial on your real data, no credit card. If you prefer, we can also give you a guided demo.
