Frequently asked questions

What electroplating shops ask us most often. Can't find your answer? Write to us.

General

Quot is a web app for quoting electroplating treatments. It calculates the real cost of the deposit with the right physics, manages metal prices, builds quotes even with multiple layers, generates professional PDFs and keeps customers and history in order.
No. Quot runs in the browser, on phone and on computer. If you want, you can install it as an app on your phone's home screen or on your desktop (it's a PWA), but it's not required.
Yes, it's designed to be used in the shop too: the interface adapts to the phone screen with a handy navigation bar.
No: the physics of the deposit is already inside the app. You choose shape, thickness and metal, and Quot does the math. If you want, you can calibrate the baths on your real data for even more accurate results.

Metals and prices

Ten metals: gold, silver, rhodium, platinum, palladium, nickel, copper, zinc, tin and chromium, each with the correct physical density used in the deposit calculation. Eight of these have a market price; for the others (tin and chromium) you enter the list reference yourself and Quot uses it in the calculations.
From a service that provides Kitco market data, converted into euros per gram. The prices are updated frequently and come with a trend chart over 7, 30 or 90 days.
For metals that don't have a reliable market source (such as tin and chromium) you set a price per gram in the list yourself: Quot uses it as a reference in the calculations, exactly as it does with the market price. The same applies as a fallback when, for a moment, the live price doesn't respond, so you're never left without a reference value.
No. The market price is a starting reference: for each layer you can confirm it, change it or use your purchase price. The price always remains your decision, treatment by treatment.
Both ways, and you choose on each individual quote. With the fixed-price clause the metal value stays locked at the rate on the day of the quote. With the index-linked clause the price tracks the metal prices: the quote realigns with the market until the customer accepts it, and then the accepted price is frozen. The chosen clause is stated in the quote and in the PDF.

Quotes and baths

Yes. A part can have several layers (for example a nickel underlayer plus a gold finish). Quot calculates the cost layer by layer for your internal use, while the customer receives a single combined line with the treatment and the finished price (for example "Nickel 20 µm + Gold 2 µm"): they see the service, not your cost structure.
You have 8 ways: the surface area by hand, or 7 geometric shapes (disc, plate, cylinder, sphere, cone, tube, ring) for which you enter the measurements and Quot calculates the correct surface area. The parts you work on often you save in a library and recall in a few seconds, without measuring them again every time.
It is a tool that reasons over the entire batch: given parts, surface area and thickness, it tells you time, amperes and current density, the same numbers you set on the rectifier. It also works in reverse: given amperes and minutes, it gives you the thickness obtained.
Quot starts with sensible default values, so you can quote right away. When you want more precision, you calibrate the efficiency of each bath on your real data with a guided wizard.
Yes. For each bath you record the metal loaded (salt and anodes, depending on the type) and Quot subtracts the metal already deposited by the jobs, showing you grams remaining, autonomy percentage and a bar. When a bath drops below 20% it warns you to prepare the top-up, so you avoid line stops on gold, rhodium or the other metals.
Yes. On a job in progress or delivered you enter the grams actually deposited per metal and Quot compares them with the estimate, showing you the deviation. When a systematic discrepancy repeats on the same metal, the app suggests recalibrating the efficiency of that bath: the more actuals you record, the closer future estimates and prices get to the reality of the tank.

Sending and accepting the quote

For each quote Quot generates a web link: you copy it or send it on WhatsApp with a ready-made message. The customer opens it on phone or computer without registering and without a password, and sees a clean document with your letterhead, the work lines and the total. Alternatively you can always generate and send the PDF.
Yes. From the link the customer accepts or rejects with one tap and receives an on-screen confirmation with date and time. The quote's status updates by itself in your management system, without phone calls or emails to chase. Quot also tells you when the customer has opened the link but not yet decided, so you know when to follow up.
Yes. The link and the PDFs use your shop's profile: name, logo, colour and company details in the header and footer. The customer perceives your brand, not the tool's.
Yes. In the Dashboard you find a section with the quotes about to expire or already expired, with a button to follow up with the customer on WhatsApp. And if a metal price moves enough to eat into the margin of an offer you have already made, Quot warns you so you can recalculate before confirming the job.

Billing and account

Yes, from the Opus plan, with three options. With Fatture in Cloud (secure, official access) you import the entire customer database and, on accepted quotes, create the document in your management software, even automatically on acceptance. With Fattura24 you connect your API key and generate the customer order with one click. With Danea you download the quote in Easyfatt format (XML) ready to import. The integrations cover the customer database and the quote documents, not the entire electronic invoicing cycle.
Yes. You upload a CSV file (even an export from Excel or your old management software): Quot recognizes the columns, shows you how many customers are new and does not create duplicates. If you have Fatture in Cloud connected, you import the customer database directly from there.
Yes. From the Account area you upload your logo and choose the accent color: they appear in the app, in the PDFs and in the link the customer sees. Each shop's data and quotes stay separate and private.
On your own, from the Account area: you activate the plan, change plan or cancel whenever you want, with secure payment and invoices always at hand. If the plan expires the app does not lock up all at once: you keep consulting your data and you can reactivate on your own.

Data, security and pricing

Yes. Access is protected by login, with a limit on attempts and a secure "remember me". Each shop's data is separate and the fonts are served from our own server, with no calls to external services. The platform runs periodic backup copies with rotation. Your quotes stay yours.
Yes. The history exports to CSV ready for Italian Excel and every quote is generated as a PDF. You can also download a complete export of your data (customers, quotes, baths and parts) in a reusable format, whenever you want.
Three plans: Prima at € 590/year (or € 59/month), Opus at € 1.490/year (or € 149/month) and Magnum at € 2.490/year (or € 249/month). No per-user cost, no setup fee. See the pricing page.
Yes, you sign up on your own in a few minutes: we verify through the business registers that the business is an electroplating shop and access is immediate, with no waiting and no credit card. You get 7 days of trial on your real data. If you prefer, we can also give you a guided demo.
The Magnum plan is designed for those with multiple sites; true multi-site management arrives with the move to the multi-shop version. Talk to us about the timing.
